Thanks for stopping by my web site and welcome! My name is Chris Pracht and this is Amateur Radio Station WR6G. I have been a licensed amateur radio operator since June of 1980. Like most operators, I have had my share of phases of radio operation. My interests have come and gone over the years but I never dismantled the station. I would always go back to it. I upgraded to amateur Extra in December of 2003. Again, I lost interest in radio for awhile and felt I needed to try and find something to renew it. One day, after tuning around the bands, I ran across some hams experimenting with a form of broadcast audio. It wasn’t long before I knew I had to be part of this incredible sounding community. With some advice from a few of the audiophiles, I purchased a few pieces of Pro Audio gear and a new radio. My interest in Amateur Radio has been peaked once again. Since Amateur radio is an experimenters hobby, this gives me plenty of chances to do just that. It would be kind of boring if we were not able to try new things wouldn’t it? It is really never ending but lots of fun!
I have since made several friends in the audio circle. I have learned a lot from them and continue to do so. A few of them are John K3UR, Larry W3OZ, John NU9N . Tune in to 14.168Mhz or 14.178Mhz sometime and be amazed how great SSB audio can sound. I am often asked about Remote Control helicopters when talking to other Ham's so I have added a web page with information on these fascinating machines. I have been involved in model aviation for the better part of five years so if you are interested, have a look at some of the pictures I have posted. Check back from time to time as I will be updating the site with different pictures and graphics. If you ever hear me on the air, give me a shout. I would love to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find a few interesting things to look at.
73’s, Chris
